On The Road

Wyoming rule#5

Looking for an authentic wild west adventure? Or maybe you’re just ready to trade in that busy commute for some wide open spaces? Jackson Hole is the ideal location for a nostalgic vacation with a historic background. The location was given its name by fur trappers and frontiersmen who had settled in the area in the early 1800s. As time went on, word spread of the territory’s sweeping mountain range, powdery skiing and beautiful hiking terrain, making it the luxury nature spot it is today. Whether you’re looking to take in local wild life or cozy by the fire at a luxury ski resort, this vacation spot is perfect any time of year.

Best Food Best Food

Jackson is a great place to find some quality homecooking accompanied by a warm staff. Snake River Grill is an upscale restaurant choice known for their consistently delectable meals. If you’re looking for a more basic meat and potatoes with a great cocktail selection, Local is the place to be (particularly if you’re looking for a good elk steak). Jackson also offers more economical options like The Kitchen, Trio, the mouth-watering Rendezvous Bistro, Café Genevieve and Bin 22 (for wine lovers!).

Road Biking Where to Play

With such wide open spaces, it’s no surprise that Jackson is home to a number of biking paths and running paths to choose from. Travelers can choose to bike their way into town from Doman’s or follow the highway for consistent views of Teton park. You can also choose to park your vehicle at Dornan’s and enjoy a smooth ride through the national park trailing all the way down to Jenny Lake. If you’re looking forward to hiking you’ll find a variety of trails with equally breath taking views, but be sure to allow yourself some time to adjust as the altitude takes some getting used to.
